The K House

The home unfolds as a series of layered experiences, balancing moments of openness with intimate corners, creating an atmosphere that feels both calm and expressive. Traditional influences are abstracted into contemporary forms, allowing the residence to feel deeply rooted in Indian culture without becoming overtly decorative.

Preserving the structural integrity of the existing house was central to the intervention. The design respects the memory of the original home while introducing a renewed identity that aligns with the family's present aspirations. Art, materiality, and craftsmanship become the mediums through which the narrative is expressed, resulting in spaces that feel personal, timeless, and emotionally resonant.

Rather than adopting a direct thematic approach, the design draws inspiration from the qualities associated with Krishna—playfulness, serenity, wisdom, and celebration. These ideas are subtly woven into the spatial language through a carefully curated palette of earthy tones, muted blues, handcrafted textures, and refined metallic accents.
